Royce Elon Middlebrooks

March 24, 1933 - November 27, 2021

At 88 years young, Mr. Royce Middlebrooks, Sr. left his earthly bodyto be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Middlebrooks, daughter, Kimball Middlebrooks, and sons, Royce Middlebrooks, Jr. and Dustin Middlebrooks. His daughter, Selena Middlebrooks Gentry, preceded him in her soul’s journey to be with the Lord, June 30, 2021. Mr. Middlebrooks was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and veteran. He was born in 1933 in Anderson, AL to Clarence and Roxy Middlebrooks, one of eight children. He joined the Navy in 1952 serving our country in the Korean War on the USS Chilton. He spent most of his life after his military service working in the cable industry. His hobbies included playing music, fishing, boating, landscaping, wood working,building community with his family, and neighbors. He enjoyed spending time in nature with his canine companions. He was an avid football enthusiast. In classic “Big Royce” style, he watched the Iron Bowl 2021 with the first ever overtime(s) before falling asleep and passing peacefully at home with his family.
