As a coworker and friend of Karen's, I want you to know how very special she was to me and so many others. I can say nothing but wonderful things of her. In the years I've known her, she touched me in many ways with her thoughtfullness, compassion to others and her gift to give 110%+ to all I witnessed her do through her job and for the Alabama District Employees Association. As the President of ACDEA, I believe I represent all fellow members in saying Karen has blessed us with a legacy to follow and continue. As a fellow sister in Christ, I humbly say I look forward to the day I see her again in Heaven. Dear Family and Friends, I can not express to you the love that I have for Karen. She was the dearest, sweetest friend to me during my work with her at SWCD. She always greeted me with a smile, always offered a hug and an encouraging word and always made sure I knew she loved me. I have been thru some very hard times since I started my work with SWCD and Karen was always there encouraging me, and helping me believe that things would all work out. I will miss her every day. I will love her and carry her in my heart forever. I pray that God will give you wonderful fond memories to cover all the sadness in your hearts. As I read all the condolences written by friends, acquaintances, and co-workers, my chest fills with pride because, Karen was my friend too. I was blessed to have her in my life for 28 years. I have never heard anyone speak a harm word about Karen. If you knew her, you loved her. She was the same yesterday as she was the day before. Genuine. We shared good times and weathered bad times for each other. Steve, I thank The Lord for letting your path cross with Karen's. You were her world and made her happy beyond measure. You were supposed to grow old together, but for some reason that we will never know here on earth, The Lord called her home. What a joyous reunion she must be having with her Lord and Savior and her daddy and grandparents that adored her as I did. Karen Denise Keel Hayes...I love you and will cherish the memories. My sincerest condolences to Karen's family. Although I did not know Karen well, what I did know of her was all good. I was thanking her just 3 weeks ago for ministering to my chronically ill daughter. Karen will be missed by all who knew her.

Where do I begin Karen. I am so thankful to have had you in my life for 17 years. It was my honor to call you my sister in law. We had some good times and bad. I will always cherish the time that we spent together and remember you with a smile. My heart is still heavy but I know that you are at peace with the Lord and that the reunion you are having is wonderful. I will always love and miss you. I am doing my best to keep Steve strong and he is doing really good he misses you though and loves you so very much. This earth will never be the same without you. Till we meet again I love you
